The purpose of Scouting is to encourage the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development of young people so that they take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities.
A junior Scout is known as a Sungura. Sungura is the Swahili word for a rabbit and the section is the equivalent of Cub Scouts. Sungura Scouts wear a yellow scarf with the Kenya Scout Associations logo printed on it.
Sungura Scouts (cub Scouts) - 6 - 11 years.
Chipukizi Scouts (Junior Scouts) - 12 - 15 years.
Mwamba Scouts (senior Scouts) - 16 - 18 years.
Jasiri Scouts ( Rovers) - 19 - 26 years

Over 2.1 million are registered as scouts in Kenya.
Parents tell us Scouting gives their children more confidence, responsibility and a broader set of friends. Scouting can help develop your child's social skills and encourage self-sufficiency, and gives them access to activities and opportunities that may have been otherwise unavailable to them.
