The Association Headquarters is based at the Rowallan Scouts Training Camp in Jamhuri, opposite the Jamhuri ASK Showground along the Kibera Drive. This is a parcel of land which is part of the Ngong Forest Sanctuary and was leased to the Kenya Scouts Association for use and development.
There are also other satellite stations (campsites and centres) in Nyeri town, Karatina, Embu, Eldoret, Siaya, Kilifi and Machakos and Scout Shop outlets in Nairobi CBD, Rowallan camp, Mombasa CBD, Eldoret CBD, Kisumu CBD, Nakuru CBD, Kakamega town, Embu town, Nyeri town.
Rowallan Scouts Camp is best known for Camping Grounds within Nairobi. It is located just 9 kilometers from Nairobi Central Business District, about 20 minutes’ drive. The Camp can be reached via self-drive (we have ample parking) or through Public transport.
Rowallan Scouts Camp can accommodate more than 4,000 campers and is located within Ngong Forest. Our campers get a chance to camp in the most natural campsite with beautiful scenes, caves, great range of birds, variety of indigenous trees and friendly monkeys and baboons on site.
Rowallan Scouts Camp is popular with both domestic and overseas tourist, mainly scouts. It hosts The World Bureau, Africa Regional Office and The Kenya Scouts Association Head Quarters. The Camp also welcomes Non-Scouts to visit and enjoy the wide range of facilities such as Conference Facilities, Wedding Grounds, Team Building Grounds, Photography/Video Shooting Grounds, Camping, Picnicking, Nature Trail (Caves), Dias, Guest Rooms, Bandas, Dormitories, Sports Grounds and Equipment, Indoor (Restaurant) and Outdoor Kitchen Services.
Rowallan Scouts Camp offers fun activities for kids and the young at heart. It is ideal for a Family Events, Church Events, School Activities, Office Events, Club Meetings, Chama Events and many more.
We have a Restaurant within the Camp, but our guests choose to either cook for themselves, pack their own meals, choose from A la Carte Menu, or buffet service.
At the Embu Scouts Centre, you indulge in a stay unlike any other. With over 80 Rooms, here, you enjoy modern accommodation within Embu town, along Embu-Meru highway.
The Camp is popular for scouts and non-scouts within Embu and travelers. We offer a variety of activities such as Conference Facilities, Accommodation, Camping and Picnicking.
Types of room accommodation include: Executive rooms, Double rooms, Single rooms, Cubicles and Hostels.
Embu Scouts Centre has excellent cuisine. Our guests choose from A la Carte Menu, and buffet serving can be arranged on request.
For Campers we have Tents for hire, hot, cold showers and toilet facilities close at hand and outdoor cooking facilities are available too for use. The camping site is a short stroll away from the restaurant and other facilities.
Embu Scouts Centre provides Free Wi-Fi and Parking for all our guests.
At the Embu Scouts Centre, you indulge in a stay unlike any other. With over 80 Rooms, here, you enjoy The campsite is located at Katoloni, 3.1 kilometers from Machakos town, 9
minutes’ drive. Machakos Scouts Camp offers the best “outdoorsy”
atmosphere you could hope for. Our guest can either bring their own tents
or rent from the campsite.
Machakos Scouts Camp has Fencing, Running Water, Electricity,
Ablutions, Open Kitchen, Conference Hall (capacity of 50 people) and
Camping grounds.
